My Story Jesus found me when I was 17. In my senior year of college he called me to be a pastor. I’ve been pursuing him as he pursues me ever since.

I was born in Ogdensburg, New York, lived in Oklahoma, Colorado, Hawaii, and Australia. If you are going to serve Jesus it might as well be in beautiful places!

I met my wife Leslie at JC Penny’s and her outstanding customer service captured my heart. I’m so proud of my daughter Laurel in Colorado and my son Levi in Hawaii. I have two foster sons Jon and Nelson who are carpenters in Australia. Nelson has made me one proud grandpa with Gabe and Malachai. Jon has given me Isaiah. Meet my family.

I serve as Senior Pastor of Evergreen Community Church in Bothell, Washington. My passion is to develop the potential of people and together do church as a team.

I love Starbucks Chai, especially with Leslie, an untouched morning paper, phone calls from my kids who are my adult friends, any activity that takes me outdoors, time with good friends, listening to real life stories, building stuff at home and traveling. I’m into dogs not cats. I love nature but I’m a city boy at heart. I have a degree in political science but I avoid talking about politics. I make lists even on my day off, but I’ve learned to take rest seriously. I’ve spent the past three years reading American Revolutionary history but I also subscribe to Inc. and Fast Company.
