Think Big

3 Comments 03 January 2012

Scripture
13 So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. 14 So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. 15 This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. Genesis 6:13-14

Observation
Noah had never thought that big before. But the times demanded it. A season was coming unlike any other. It wasn’t a rainy season or even a monsoon. Instead a tsunami was on its way. A big boat had to be built.

Application
We can get in life a “steady state” perspective, where we think that things will be as they always have been. But when God changes a season our perspectives must expand.

Prayer
Father, help me to think big as you think big. Amen.

I'm Phil McCallum, a husband, father and most of all one of the people Jesus loves. I'm privileged to serve Evergreen Community Church in Bothell, Washington as Senior Pastor where people love enough to believe "it's all about relationships." In 1982 I made a vow to read God's word daily and apply it to life. Each day I write out my reflections. Some days I post those on my blog. It's a little personal but it's my hope it will stir you to go deeper still. Learn how I do my devotions. These are my thoughts and not necessarily those of the ministry I serve. By the way check out the computer study Bible Glo. I highly recommend it.
