Scripture
You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Exodus 19:4
Observation
What a ride! What a landing! What poetic words to describe it all.
The ‘wings of eagles’ involved 10 plagues, an angel of death, the pursuit of Pharaoh’s army, the Red Sea, hunger and thirst. But from God’s point of view it all looked quite different. He saw his hand of deliverance at work making a smooth ride for his people. As humans we focus too much on the speed bumps and not our progress. We look at life problems first; God sees our life from his solutions first. We are riding on eagles wings.
Their landing place was a desert with nothing to see but rocks and blue sky. But from God’s point of view they are snuggling on his lap. Again, from a human point of view they were in a very uncomfortable place. But from God’s point of view it was his living room, comfortable enough to take off shoes to enjoy holy ground.
Application
I choose today to stop looking at my life problem first. I choose today to be comfortable in uncomfortable places. Every life experience is bringing me to God.
Prayer
Father, this day I ask that you would help me to see you as you are and my life from your point of view. Amen.
