Press the arrow to listen to Hillsong sing “With All I Am” as you read today’s devotion on living in Jesus.

Scripture
“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” John 15:7

Observation
To do great things with God, there are some givens that must be accepted.

Jesus is the vine, and we are not. He is the source of all.

The Father is the vinedresser. He has the right to do whatever he likes with the vine and it will always be the better for it.

We are branches, totally dependent on our food source with only one purpose to produce fruit.

Branches are to hug on tightly to the good thing going for them. They are to linger long with Jesus.

Every branch needs to be filled with fresh words from Jesus spoken into the heart. That keeps us green and tender.

Every branch knows that he is just one snip from being a parched, brittle, brown stick. Jesus is that important.

Application
When I embrace all of these things, then and only then can I ask for whatever I wish and I will have an answer.

Prayer
Father, today my life-word is “in”. I chose today to be more than inserted by enveloped in Christ. Amen.

I'm Phil McCallum, a husband, father and most of all one of the people Jesus loves. I'm privileged to serve Evergreen Community Church in Bothell, Washington as Senior Pastor where people love enough to believe "it's all about relationships." In 1982 I made a vow to read God's word daily and apply it to life. Each day I write out my reflections. Some days I post those on my blog. It's a little personal but it's my hope it will stir you to go deeper still. Learn how I do my devotions. These are my thoughts and not necessarily those of the ministry I serve. By the way check out the computer study Bible Glo. I highly recommend it.
